I have a cold. Not having a cold in years and years, one tends to forget how many tissues are needed. The side of my bed looks like a trash bin. Wish my nose would stop running and my voice would sound normal. I want to sew but my head hurts when my neck is bent down. Guess time will now be spent catching up on reading blogs.
GRATITUDES
1. A husband that brings me hot tea and honey.
2. A husband who takes care of me when I am not well.

Last week, in this journal, words were put down on paper to tell all about the fusion fibre art group that I joined. Where did it go? Maybe I was dreaming! LOL.. That is always a possibility. I stumbled into a fibre arts group by accident. Being bored one afternoon found me driving to the local Arts and Crafts gallery and in the back room was a group of ladies sewing. They were making purses using a crazy patch technique. It was wonderful. I crazy patch but they way they were doing it was new to me. I am so careful with my sewing and they were saying, no, no don’t waste so much time. just sew it and if you don’t like it just put something over it and keep going. Sounded wonderful. Here is my first attempt to sew with them.

The handle was attached through a washer that was covered in yarn.

It was alot of fun to make this.
Next time we will be making another purse using another technique.
They are having an exhibition from July 17 at the Port Stephens Art and Craft Gallery. It would be wonderful if you stopped by to see all wonderful things these creative people have made.
GRATITUDES:
1. Enough time to sleep when a cough turns to a cold.
2. A wonderful husband that brings me hot drinks and tissues when a I have a cold.

YES, YES…The house is almost they way that it needs to be. There are few items that need to find a home and then I am done.
It has taken way too long to finish the house. When we moved in the house it was not ready from the owners side, but we needed a place to live and decided to move into the house even though it still needed work. So between the workmen and the unpacking it has taken longer than expected.
Finally found the rechargeable battery thing and have the batteries charging up and now it is only a matter of a few hours before pictures will be taken of the new items on the sewing list.
Thursday a bus has been hired to take ladies from The Nelson Bay area to the craft and quilt show in Sydney. Of course my body will be on it. This is a great way to travel without driving and also a good way to meet ladies with the same interests.
Hope today is a wonderful day for everyone reading.
Gratitudes:
1. Madeline starts her job tomorrow.
2. The clean smell after a beautiful rain.

Moving really is the pits. There is so much to do and so little time for anything else. Needless to say, nothing in the way of pictures to show of sewing. It is a nice house. I am just tired from all the cleaning and putting away. Now ifa project would magically appear to work on tonight. I really want to sew. Maybe something will show up in one of the boxes in the garage that needs to be unpacked. My fingers are crossed. Ok guess enough of time on the computer. Time to open another box.
Gratitudes
1. Some place to live.
2. Both my daughters are currently with me.

Trying to get ready to move house and sew does not mix with me. Here is a picture of a start on a Sanman Design. It isn’t much but at least I sat down today to spend some time to sew. Don’t know when there will be time to sew again, but in my heart there is a feeling that tells me it might be tomorrow evening. Missing sewing is starting to show in my attitude. If sewing will fix my attitude, then my hands had better get going.
Gratitude’s:
1. Having the ability to stitch
2. Enjoying stitching

Lately there has not been much time to surf the internet, but today was different. This morning was spent having a wonderful time surfing instead of cleaning, packing etc. ( all the lovley things that need to be done when moving house ). Here is a site that has a great embroidery/quilt BOM. http://capricornquilts.blogspot.com/ The Bom (if I read it properly) is called “Quilters Blessings”. The blocks are up for a month at a time, so you had better be quick.
Gratitudes
1. Computers
2. A clean kitchen

Round six of the Fair and Square exchange is under way. http://fairsquares.blogspot.com/ Completion date April 24, 2008. My partner is LisaCt. The chart being sewn is a suprise to your partner until it is received. This is the fabric with a little start and the colors to be used. Once LisaCT receives her exchange all will be revealed in my blog. Can you figure out what the picture will be?

Gratitudes
1. Rain
2. Bones for the dogs.

Today will teach me to count the cross stitch fabric that my sewing will show up on. Recently a decision was made to organize my cross stitch fabric by count, and put the different counts in separate bags. Today the pattern being sewn needed 32 count (it is for an exchange) and so thinking it would be easy, just get the right bag and pull out the color needed. Ok all organized, threads pulled, design in front of me, stitching started, working from the middle of the pattern down to the bottom, can not show what was stitched as it is to be a surprise. Putting the last row into the fabric, it seemed very close to the edge. So doing the right thing, the measuring tape came out and the threads were counts. GRRRRR-the fabric was a 28 count not a 32 count. So here I sit writing into the blog instead of finishing up my exchange piece. At least I learned a lesson today and a day without learning something is a day waisted as I have been told. Lesson learned…Always count fabric threads before stitching.
GRATITUDE’S
1. A computer with internet connection.
2. Potted plants.

Life is different without a computer. The last two weeks proved that to me. Rather than reading online, a book popped into my hands. Haven’t done that for a couple of months. It was decision time and this is what was decided. Limit the time spent reading on line to once in the morning and once in the evening. Now the decision needs to be made about how long to allow myself to be on line. Test myself and prove to myself that there is no addiction to this machine. So wish me luck. This goal is achievable. Maybe this way there will be more sewing and pictures to show. That will be great.
This is a picture of a cross stitch that was just started. It is suppose to be a Christmas pillow with the word Joy and a bobble.

This is a picture of the same cross stitch later that day after it somehow found some water to play in.

Now if anyone knows how to set red and not make it run I would love to here from you. In the future I do not want anything I make be spoiled after all the work that goes into it. I thought DMC red was colorfast.
GRATITUDES
1. Looking out the window and seeing a beautiful sunset.
2. The noise my grown children make when we are together.
